To All The Boys We’ve Loved Before

The Homophones are Wellington’s Gay Men’s Chorus. The choir was established in 2008 and over the last three years has performed at the Outtakes Festival, the Aids Candlelight Memorial, and given their own concerts. Earlier this year they flew to Auckland to take part in the Out and Loud choral festival, a gathering of gay and lesbian choirs from around Australasia.

Their annual concert at St Andrew’s on the Terrace has become a staple of the choir’s calendar.

This spring The Homophones are presenting To All The Boys We’ve Loved Before, an eclectic repertoire of songs that explore expressions of love. From a re-gendered version of the 16th-century madrigal Amarilli Mio Bello , to a rendition of the Scottish folk song My Love Is Like a Red Red Rose from poet Robbie Burns, and even to a delightful new take on the pop number Lollipop. Also included is a new arrangement of that perennial icon of gay song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

So come along and listen to the melodic melding of about two score voices led by our enthusiastic choir conductor resident Jean Malcolm

To All the Boys We’ve Loved Before will be performed at St-Andrew’s-on-the-Terrace, 30 The Terrace, Wellington, at 4 pm on Sunday 21 November. Tickets $15 waged/$10 unwaged. Ticket price includes a glass of wine and light refreshments prior to the performance.
