Man convicted of Waipouri murder gives evidence - 16-Jul-2008
A Palmerston North man who has been convicted of the murder of Stanley Waipouri has given evidence against another man charged with the same murder.

Andre Gilling is facing a retrial for the murder of Stanley Waipouri in December 2006.

The Crown has questioned Ashley Arnopp extensively on the events that took place before and during the attack on Mr Waipouri.

Arnopp has told the jury he and Gilling spent most of the day drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis before going to Stanley Waipouri's flat. He has described how both of them took part in the bloody attack, which involved kicking, stomping on and punching Mr Waipouri.

Arnopp has repeatedly told the court that both he and Gilling killed Mr Waipouri.
