Red dress collection event to benefit AIDS foundation - 29-Aug-2008
As part of November’s Style Christchurch a black tie and ‘Red Dress’ dinner event will be held at the picturesque Tamaki Heritage Village in Christchurch to benefit the New Zealand AIDS Foundation.

This special evening blends a selection of New Zealand’s best fashion with traditional dance, theatre and music.

A number of our leading fashion designers have contributed special red dresses and outfits in support of the event, with all items being auctioned off in a silent auction during the evening. Designers such as Huffer, Koila McBride, Sonya Smith, Ruby, Sakaguchi, V&G, Gas, IPG, Stitch Ministry, MisteR and Emma Ford Swimwear are already confirmed.

The Red Dress Collection theme ’Lost In Our Own Land‘ looks at the descendants of those who forged our history in blood, sweat and tears. Guests will journey back in time to the early 1800's where the traditions of ancient Mâori values clashed with those of early pioneering settlers and colonialism.

Organiser and founder, Andhy Blake, is proud to present the very first Red Dress Collection event. “I’m excited to present another key Style Christchurch event which links the history of our nation to the exciting contemporary designs of some of our top Canterbury and New Zealand designers. The black tie dinner format should make for a fun filled and entertaining evening that many of Christchurch’s local residents can come to enjoy. We are particularly proud to support the New Zealand AIDS Foundation, our charity of choice,” he says.

All proceeds from the auction and 10% of the ticket price will be going to the New Zealand AIDS Foundation and the purpose of the show is for Style Christchurch to raise awareness and financially contribute to the New Zealand AIDS Foundation (NZAF).
